Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari, the eldest daughter of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto Shaheed and former President Asif Ali Zardari, tied the knot today (January 29). The wedding ceremony was held at Bilawal House Karachi. Bakhtawar Bhutto, 31, is married to Pakistani-born Dubai-based industrialist Mahmood Chaudhry.

The marriage ceremony was kept short with the participation of the Bhutto and Zardari family and relatives of Mahmood Chaudhry. Strict security arrangements were seen around Bilawal House on the occasion.
Bakhtawar Bhutto’s wedding celebrations started 4 days ago on January 25, which was also Bakhtawar Bhutto’s birthday. The wedding celebrations started with Mehfil Milad.

Bakhtawar Bhutto’s Mehndi ritual (Rasm-e-Hina) was performed on January 27, while special Sindhi and Balochi rituals were performed on January 28. Local artists were invited to make the event a success.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also tweeted congratulations and prayers to the newlyweds, saying, “My sister Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari’s wedding is a moment of happiness that will come after a long time.”

According to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Bakhtawar Bhutto’s wedding celebrations will be held in three more cities besides Karachi, including Lahore, Larkana, and Islamabad.
