The telecom authority of Pakistan PTA is in action now to filter immoral content for Pakistan’s society. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) issues a press release about current action. PTA Twitter account shared the details that the authority has blocked five streaming apps including the dating app Tinder. Including Tinder, PTA blocked some Dating Apps in Pakistan.
PTA stated that it has been blocked these apps based on vulgar or indecent content.
PTA stated in the press releases that before blocking these apps PTA issued the concerned management of the apps to remove the immoral streaming content for their negative effects in the society. Further, it has been advised that they should follow local Pakistan’s law to moderate content under the society’s ethical views. Dating service has been largely criticized in Pakistan so it should be removing these types of services offered by apps.

Tinder – Dating & New Friends
This is a popular dating app and has a large community of fan following. It has 100 Million+ Downloads on Google PlayStore.
SayHi Chat, Meet New People
SayHi is another popular app where you can find nearby peoples and chat with them. It has Ten Million+ Downloads on Google PlayStore.
Tagged -Chill, Chat & Go Live!
Tagged app is another one that has been banned by PTA. It also has Ten Million+ Downloads on Google PlayStore.
Grindr – Gay chat
The Grinder is a social networking app for chatting with Gay, trans & queer people. It has 10 Million+ Downloads on Google PlayStore.
SKOUT – Meet, Chat, Go Live
Skout is also banned in Pakistan by PTA. It has 50 Million+ Downloads on Google Play Store.
After the PTA warns, the concerned platform did not take it seriously and didn’t take any action within the time provided to avoid blocking in Pakistan.
It’s not a permanent decision to ban these apps PTA regularly checking apps and can reconsider to unblock these services. All the banned apps will have to moderate their content policy under Pakistan Law and meaningful engagement.
Final Notice to TikTok!
Before banning these apps PTA has also banned the Bigo the other live-streaming app and give final notice to short video streaming app TikTok to remove vulgar content by their platform.

PTA also Banned the most popular online battle games PUBG in June and after the meetings of the legal spokesperson of the PUBG PTA restored the PUBG Mobile Game in Pakistan.
In the past, many companies have raised concerns that their services have been blocked before the issuance of any notice.
